#24
Today we will return to writing a review. This will be for a film or television series you've seen, a book you've read, or a restaurant you've visited. Research reviews to give yourself some insight into how the review should be written.

Visit the usual newspapers and websites of your choice for ideas.
Find reviews in entertainment sections.

I want a hard copy of your blog about this news story on Thursday.
(Snowstorm tomorrow will push things back a day.)

Here's some hard news for ya if you're having trouble finding a topic.

This was the case I was almost on when I went to jury duty last Friday.

Prosecutor: Thornton hired 'death squad' to kill partner
Continue with your daily blog but also begin research on a new hard news story. It can be any hard news story but just make it one with legs. (This means a story that will run for a while, just like the Congo story we followed last week.) Use http://nytimes.com or http://bbc.co.uk to get started and decide if you want to follow a local, a national or an international news story. This blog will be due Wednesday.

Journalists know many things. If they don't, they read to further educate themselves about all sorts of issues. Today I will provide you with background information about the conflict in DR Congo you read about yesterday. Refer to it as you finish your blog from yesterday. Make sure you're aware of the background of today's conflict and be certain to read the last paragraph to see just how complex the current situation is. Hard copy of your blog is due to me tomorrow, Friday.

Reconnect with your blog and create a new post today. Tomorrow we return to hard news stories.
Time to reconnect with a hard news story.

This editorial is astounding and about a topic that doesn't appear in most mainstream news sources. The Grammys took up so much time and space a story like this that takes place half a world away is lost.(Sarcasm)

Do additional research and post a blog entry about this topic. Include a link to another story source on this topic as well.
