Objectives and Procedures:
1 Read news articles related to recent story of bodies being discovered by Long Island beaches.
2 Write a quick summary of each article and critique each.
3 Focus on the "NEWS" presented.
4 Ask yourself: "Is this news?"
5 Yesterday it was discovered that the bodies found are not the bodies of a missing woman.
Is this news? Why does the news cover stories of things that aren't stories?

6 This is why we read the paper critically! What are we being told and why?
7 In this case we're focusing on why this story HAS LEGS (Why does it keep running?).
Include this in your analysis.
8 In addition to yesterday's articles read one article from today and write about what is new in this story.
